First and foremost, do your research. Learn everything you can about a country before visiting. Read personal accounts/stories on blogs, ask questions on popular forums & facebook travel groups. As a solo female traveler, it’s best to ask other solo female travelers about their experience visiting a country. They have personal experience that can be a great reference point. Ask a group of people, and then ask a solo female traveller. Keep in mind the advice above. They might not even know what you are planning on doing. Or, they might already be there, and not mention your country as a popular choice. In any case, do your homework and do your due diligence. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Know exactly what you want to do. When I go on travel, it’s almost always to relax, spend time with friends, or to enjoy. What I enjoy is exploring and finding new places. So if I’m in South America, I’m definitely interested in visiting Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia or Argentina. And if I’m in Eastern Europe, it’s only a few countries away, but not an interest of mine. I do travel to Western Europe as a solo female traveller. Then, as I’ve mentioned, if I’m in a city in my chosen country, I’m usually interested in seeing where the country borders.
Do your research on the road. You have to have an idea of what you want to do and where you want to go, so you can decide on your destination. And I’ve found that the more you know beforehand, the easier it is to plan. I plan and research as I go. I’ll look up bus schedules, train schedules and airport schedules and find out exactly where I want to go. And once I know, I’m far less anxious as I know exactly where I’ll be when.
Keep in mind that it is expensive to travel when you’re not a solo female. When you’re alone, you can pay for yourself by choosing cheaper and shorter flights. Taking less expensive flights can make a big difference. Longer flights can break up longer trips which can break up your budget. If you can stick to cheaper flights, you can get rid of much of the extra money you’ll spend on your own travel. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Save more. When you’re traveling on your own, your travel budget goes down a whole lot faster than when you’re with someone else. If you’re traveling with someone else you can share your budget with them. When you’re traveling on your own, you’ll probably find yourself paying for more, not less.
- Don’t let anyone pressure you into paying for more. You’re the one who’s bringing the cost. No one is forcing you to pay more. It’s you who’s being a priss when you let the people around you pressure you into paying more than you’re willing to.
- When you’re out of town on business, always keep your travel expenses separate from your office expenses. Have just one separate expense, and do a separate bank transfer for it. This will help you stop paying for unnecessary expenses, and then you can use the money for other purposes.
- When you’re on a business trip, consider using cash bonuses and frequent flyer miles to pay for your travel expenses. These rewards programs and miles programs encourage spending, so using them to pay for your travel will encourage you to keep on spending on your business trips.
What to look for in a travel companion:
We want to encourage you to find the best travel companion for your needs. When you start looking for a travel companion, you’ll want to find someone who likes to travel. They need to be an individual who likes spending time with you, and enjoying your travel. A companion needs to have a good sense of humor that will lighten your mood.
The travel companion you select should also be open-minded and imaginative. In today’s world, the best companions are those who embrace change. They’re the ones who will get into new experiences, and see how your travels change you.
Finding the right travel companion means choosing someone who has a sense of adventure. But these are not just physical adventurers, they’re not just romantic. These are adventuresome, and adventurous, but also balanced.
The best travel companions are also the ones who understand that your safety is most important, and they will work hard to make sure you are safe. But the adventuresome and adventurous travel companions don’t just see danger, they also embrace it. They know that adventure is part of living life. These are adventure lovers, and adventurers.
You’ll love their excitement and eagerness to get out there in the world, and give you a surprise holiday. They’ll also make your trip the most amazing travel you’ve ever been on, and will take you on a memorable journey of a lifetime.
